IT – ITeS Policy
Maharashtra IT & ITeS Policy, 2023 — brief note
The policy is valid for 5 years from 27 June 2023.
The scheme applies to IT, ITeS, AVGC, emerging technology units, data centres, IT Parks and Integrated IT Townships set up in Maharashtra.
Eligible units may include new units, expansion/diversification projects and certain existing units, subject to registration with Directorate of Industries / STPI / competent authority. IT / ITeS units are permitted to be set up in any zone, including residential, no-development and green zones, subject to applicable approvals.
Minimum percentage benefit specifically seen in the policy is generally 25% reimbursement for power rationalisation / retrofitting cost, capped at ₹10 lakh.
Stamp duty exemption ranges from 50%, 75% to 100% based on Zone-I / non-Zone-I, public / private IT Park, SEZ, STPI or restructuring cases
Electricity duty exemption is available for 10 years in Zone-I, 15 years outside Zone-I, and permanently for specified SEZ / STPI / 100% export units
Normally, IT / ITeS units are granted essential services status and may operate 24×7×365.
